Adrenal Gland
The adrenal gland is composed of two parts, the cortex and the medulla. The cortex secretes hormones called corticosteroids, which are involved in regulating the body’s response to stress, inflammation, and the immune system. The medulla secretes hormones called catecholamines, including adrenaline and noradrenaline, which are involved in regulating the body’s response to stress and promoting the “fight or flight” response.
Overall, the adrenal gland is an important part of the endocrine system, which is responsible for producing and regulating hormones in the body. Dysfunction of the adrenal gland can lead to various medical conditions, including Addison’s disease and Cushing’s syndrome.
