Vaccines
Vaccines work by introducing your body to a small amount of a virus or bacteria, or a piece of it, so that your immune system can recognize and fight it if you ever come into contact with the actual pathogen. Vaccines use different types of antigens, such as killed or weakened germs, or just a piece of the germ, to stimulate the immune response. Some vaccines require multiple doses to ensure long-term protection.
