Neodymium
Neodymium is a rare earth metal that has become increasingly important in modern technology due to its ability to create strong permanent magnets. These magnets are made by combining neodymium, iron, and boron to create a material that has a very large magnetic field. This material is commonly used in many different types of technology, such as headphones, speakers, electric motors, generators, MRI machines, wind turbines, and more. Neodymium is also used as a dopant in glass, to color it purple and make it protective against certain types of light. Additionally, it has some other uses in industry, such as in nuclear reactor control rods, and in making high-strength structural alloys.
