Waste Management and Recycling
Waste management has become a critical issue due to the growing population and urbanization. The traditional methods of disposal, such as landfills and incineration, are not sustainable in the long term. Therefore, waste management practices have shifted towards the three R’s - Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. Reducing waste at the source, reusing products, and recycling materials help to decrease the amount of waste produced and conserve natural resources. Additionally, waste-to-energy technologies, such as incineration and anaerobic digestion, can generate renewable energy from waste while reducing the volume of waste to be disposed of. Effective waste management and recycling practices are crucial for creating a sustainable environment for future generations.
