Obesity and Weight Management

Obesity refers to a complex condition where excessive body fat accumulates, increasing the risk of various health issues. It is commonly determined by Body Mass Index (BMI), which compares a person’s weight to their height. Obesity is influenced by factors such as genetics, diet, physical activity levels, and environmental factors.

Weight management involves maintaining a healthy weight or achieving weight loss through a combination of dietary changes, regular physical activity, and behavioral modifications. It is recommended to engage in at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise or 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity aerobic exercise per week, along with strength training exercises.

It’s essential to approach weight management as a long-term commitment to overall health and well-being, rather than focusing solely on appearance or short-term results.
