Malaria
Malaria is an infectious disease caused by tiny parasites called Plasmodium. It is mainly transmitted through the bite of female mosquitoes of the Anopheles species. When an infected mosquito bites a person, it injects the parasites into their bloodstream. The parasites then travel to the liver and multiply, later infecting and destroying red blood cells. This leads to the symptoms of Malaria, including fever, chills, fatigue, muscle aches, and headaches.
Malaria can be a serious illness, especially if not treated promptly. It is most common in tropical and subtropical regions where the Anopheles mosquitoes thrive. Preventing Malaria involves using insect repellents, sleeping under mosquito nets, and taking antimalarial medications when traveling to affected areas.
