Ankylosaurus
Ankylosaurus was a type of dinosaur that lived about 68-66 million years ago, during the Late Cretaceous period. It was a herbivore, meaning it only ate plants. Ankylosaurus had a unique body structure that made it very different from other dinosaurs. Its body was covered in thick, bony plates called osteoderms, which acted like a natural armor. This armor provided protection against predators, such as Tyrannosaurus rex.
One of the most distinctive features of Ankylosaurus was its tail. The tail was extremely strong and had a large club-like structure made of bone at the end. This tail club could be swung with immense force, potentially inflicting serious damage to any predator that tried to attack Ankylosaurus. The tail club was also useful for defense against rival dinosaurs during territorial disputes.
Ankylosaurus had a low, wide body and short limbs. It walked on all fours and had a broad snout with teeth adapted for chewing tough plant material. It likely spent most of its time grazing on low-lying vegetation, using its beak-like mouth to strip leaves and branches from plants.
