Explain Science

Archaeopteryx

Archaeopteryx is a very special animal that lived a long time ago. It had some features of dinosaurs, like sharp teeth and a long tail, but it also had feathers like birds. Archaeopteryx was like a bridge between the two groups. It could climb trees and fly around, just like modern birds do. The scientists found its fossils many years ago, and they were very excited because Archaeopteryx gave them clues about how birds evolved from dinosaurs.
