Diplodocus

Diplodocus is a type of dinosaur that lived during the Late Jurassic period, around 150 million years ago. It was a herbivorous dinosaur, which means it only ate plants. Diplodocus was quite large, reaching lengths of up to 90 feet and weighing about 25 tons. Its most distinctive feature was its long neck, which could reach up to 26 feet in length.

Diplodocus had a unique way of eating. It had sharp, peg-like teeth at the front of its mouth to grab vegetation, but it didn’t chew its food. Instead, it would swallow leaves and branches whole and let them ferment in its stomach, where bacteria would break them down. This process is called fermentation. Diplodocus had a long, whip-like tail that it could use for defense, but it mostly used it for balance while walking.
