Theories about the Multiverse
The multiverse is a topic of ongoing research in cosmology and theoretical physics. As mentioned before, the ‘Many-Worlds’ interpretation of quantum physics suggests that every time a quantum measurement is made, the universe splits into multiple parallel universes.
Meanwhile, the ‘Inflationary’ theory offers another persuasive solution to the multiverse problem. Scientists believe that right after the Big Bang, the universe experienced a period of rapid expansion that caused its size to increase by a massive amount in just a fraction of a second! This rapid expansion caused regions of the universe to separate so much that they might have become their own separate universes!
Lastly, the ‘String Theory’ proposes that there are more than 10^500 universes, each with different physical laws and forces - thus a potentially infinite number of parallel universes. While the concept is still abstract and theoretical, the idea of a multiverse has profound implications for the nature of reality and our place in the universe.
