Schizophrenia

Schizophrenia is a mental disorder that affects how a person thinks, feels, and acts. It usually starts in late adolescence or early adulthood. People with schizophrenia may experience hallucinations, which are seeing or hearing things that aren’t real. They may also have delusions, which are strong beliefs that are not based on reality. For example, they may believe that someone is reading their thoughts or that they have special powers.

Schizophrenia can also cause disorganized thinking and speech, making it hard for people to communicate their thoughts clearly. They may have trouble organizing their thoughts and may jump from one topic to another without any logical connection.

Schizophrenia is a chronic condition, which means it lasts for a long time, but it can be managed with treatment. Doctors often prescribe medication to help control the symptoms, and therapy can also be beneficial in helping individuals learn coping strategies and improve their daily functioning.
