Chromosomes are like tiny instruction manuals that tell our bodies how to grow and work. They are found inside our cells and are responsible for giving us our unique traits, like our eye and hair color. Just like a book has pages, chromosomes are made up of long strands of special chemical called DNA. DNA is like a code that holds all the information about how our bodies should look and function. We receive half of our chromosomes from our mom and the other half from our dad. Without chromosomes, we wouldn’t be who we are!
