Gland

Glands are organs that secrete substances necessary for different bodily functions. Exocrine glands produce and secrete substances onto surfaces through ducts, such as sweat glands that secrete sweat onto the skin, salivary glands that produce saliva in the mouth, and digestive glands that produce enzymes for digestion in the digestive tract. Endocrine glands produce hormones that regulate various bodily functions, such as the pituitary gland, which secretes growth hormone to regulate growth and development. Glands also play a crucial role in maintaining homeostasis, the balance of bodily functions needed for health and survival.
