Hair

Hair is a complex biological structure that varies in texture, color, thickness, and growth pattern depending on our genetics, age, and environment. Hair follicles are mini-organs that cycle through three stages of growth: anagen (active growth), catagen (transitional phase), and telogen (resting phase). Each hair follicle is independent and can produce several hairs over a lifetime. Hair growth is regulated by a complex network of hormones, enzymes, and signaling pathways that are still not completely understood. The color of our hair is primarily determined by the type and amount of melanin pigments, but other factors like hair follicle density, distribution, and shape can also influence hair color. Hair is an important part of our appearance, identity, and self-expression, and its loss or damage can have significant psychological and social effects.
