Kinetics and Equilibrium

Kinetics is the study of the factors that affect the rate of a chemical reaction. It tries to figure out how different things like temperature, concentration, and catalysts can speed up or slow down a reaction. Equilibrium is the study of how reactions reach a state of balance between the reactants and the products. At equilibrium, the forward and reverse reactions happen at the same rate, so the concentrations of the reactants and products don’t change anymore.
