Desert Ecology

In deserts, it is very hot and there is very little water. This makes it a tough place for plants and animals to live. But even though deserts may seem empty, they are actually full of life! Some plants and animals have special adaptations that help them survive in the desert. For example, cacti have thick stems that can store water, and camels have humps that store fat, which they can use as energy when there is not much food around. Isn’t nature amazing?
