Tennessine
Tennessine is a synthetic element that was first synthesized by a joint effort between Russian and American scientists in 2010. With the atomic number 117 and symbol Ts, it is a member of the halogen group, which includes elements such as chlorine and iodine. Tennessine’s most stable isotope has a half-life of only a fraction of a second, so it is difficult to study and little is known about its chemical and physical properties. However, its discovery contributes to our understanding of the behavior of heavy and unstable elements, and opens up new areas of research for synthetic elements and their potential applications in fields such as nuclear medicine.
