Uranium
Uranium is a naturally occurring element that has 92 protons in its nucleus. It is the heaviest naturally occurring element and can be found in rocks and soil. Uranium is used in nuclear power plants to generate electricity through a process called nuclear fission.
During nuclear fission, a uranium atom is split into two smaller atoms, releasing a tremendous amount of energy in the process. This energy can then be used to produce electricity. While nuclear energy is a very powerful source of energy, it also has potential risks associated with it, such as the creation of radioactive waste.
