Dengue Fever
Dengue Fever is an infectious disease caused by a virus called the Dengue virus. This virus is mainly spread through the bite of infected mosquitoes. When a mosquito carrying the virus bites a person, the virus enters their bloodstream and starts to multiply.
Once inside the body, the Dengue virus can cause a range of symptoms, including high fever, severe headache, joint and muscle pain, and rash. In some cases, it can lead to a more severe form of the disease called Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever, which can be life-threatening.
Currently, there are no specific antiviral treatments for Dengue Fever, so the best way to prevent the illness is to avoid mosquito bites. This can be done by using mosquito repellent, wearing protective clothing, and removing any standing water where mosquitoes can breed.
