Measles
Measles is a very contagious virus that makes people sick. When someone has measles, they might have a fever and a rash all over their body. It can make them feel very tired and have a sore throat, cough, and runny nose. Sometimes, it can make their eyes feel irritated and their skin itchy.
Measles can spread easily from one person to another through tiny droplets in the air, like when someone coughs or sneezes. That’s why it’s important to cover our mouths and noses when we cough or sneeze and to wash our hands often.
Doctors have a special vaccine to protect us from getting measles. It’s a shot that goes in our arm, and it helps our body fight off the virus if we ever come into contact with it. Vaccines are important to keep us healthy and prevent us from getting sick.
