Parkinson's Disease
Parkinson’s Disease is a neurodegenerative disorder that affects the nervous system, particularly the part of the brain responsible for controlling movement. It usually starts gradually, and the symptoms worsen over time. People with Parkinson’s Disease often experience tremors (shaking), stiffness, and difficulty with balance and coordination. They may also have speech and swallowing difficulties. These symptoms occur due to a decrease in a chemical called dopamine in the brain. While the exact cause of Parkinson’s Disease is not known, it is believed to involve a combination of genetic and environmental factors. There is currently no cure for Parkinson’s Disease, but there are treatment options available to manage the symptoms and improve quality of life.
