Optics and Light

Optics is a branch of physics that studies the behavior and properties of light. Light is a type of energy that travels through space as both a wave and a particle. It travels extremely fast, at a speed of 299,792,458 meters per second (abbreviated as “c”).

One of the most important concepts in optics is the principle of reflection, which describes how light bounces off of surfaces. Another key concept is refraction, which describes how light bends when passing through different materials, such as air, water, or glass.

Optics has many important applications, such as in telescope and microscope lenses, fiber optic communication systems, and laser technology.
