A wave is like a friend helping you push a swing. The friend gives you a little push and then steps back and waits for you to come back. When you come back, the friend gives you another little push to keep the swing going. Waves work the same way. They give things a push and then wait for them to come back before pushing them again. Sound is also a wave that we can hear with our ears. It’s what makes music and talking sound different.
