The Moon
The Moon is a natural satellite that orbits Earth. It is about 238,855 miles away and takes about 27.3 days to complete one orbit. The Moon’s surface is rocky and has many craters, mountains, and plains. It has no atmosphere, water, or life, and its temperature can range from -280°F to +260°F. Despite this, the Moon is still important to Earth because it helps stabilize our planet’s rotation and creates tides in our oceans.
