Explain Science

Earth

Earth is a planet that orbits the sun, and it is the fifth-largest planet in our solar system. It has a solid inner core, a liquid outer core, a mantle, and a thin outermost layer called the crust. The crust is made up of tectonic plates that move around and cause earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. Earth’s atmosphere is composed of various gases that protect us from harmful radiation and keep the planet at a habitable temperature. The study of Earth’s physical structure and processes is called geology.

Earth’s climate is also an important part of the planet’s makeup. The atmosphere and oceans work together in complex ways to produce weather patterns and climate zones that support plant and animal life. This is known as meteorology. The study of how living things interact with each other and their environment is called ecology. Earth’s biodiversity is incredibly important for the continuation of life on the planet.
