The solar system is a collection of objects that orbit around a central star, the sun. There are eight planets in our solar system: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. Each planet is unique in terms of size, composition, and atmosphere. Four of the planets are considered ”gas giants” (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune) and four are “rocky planets” (Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars).
