Venus is a rocky planet with a thick atmosphere that traps heat, making it the hottest planet in our Solar System. It’s also the second-brightest object in the sky, after the Moon, and can be seen from Earth with the naked eye. Venus rotates very slowly, taking about 243 Earth days to complete one rotation, and it rotates in the opposite direction of most planets, including Earth.
