Testosterone
Testosterone is a hormone, which is a type of chemical made by your body. Both boys and girls have testosterone, but boys have a lot more of it. Testosterone is what causes boys to go through puberty, which is when their bodies start to change and they develop more typical male characteristics like a deeper voice, more body hair, and bigger muscles. Testosterone also helps build bone density and contributes to the production of red blood cells.
