Climate

Climate is a complex and multi-faceted concept that encompasses a wide range of physical, chemical, and biological processes. These processes interact in intricate ways to determine the long-term trends in weather patterns in a given region. Factors that influence climate include the geographic location of an area, its elevation, its proximity to large bodies of water, and more. Over time, natural processes like volcanic eruptions and variations in the Earth’s orbit have caused changes in climate. However, in recent decades, human activities such as burning fossil fuels, deforestation, and industrial agriculture have contributed to a rapid acceleration of climate change, resulting in rising temperatures, extreme weather events, and other deleterious ecological impacts. By taking steps to reduce our carbon footprint and mitigate the impact of human activity on climate, we can work to protect the planet for future generations.
