Fossil Fuels
Fossil fuels are non-renewable resources that are formed from ancient organic matter, primarily from plants and algae. Over millions of years, these remains have been transformed into deposits of coal, oil, and natural gas.
The extraction and use of fossil fuels have had significant impacts on the environment and human health. The process of extracting fossil fuels can cause habitat destruction, water and air pollution, and other forms of environmental damage. Burning fossil fuels for energy releases carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, contributing to climate change.
As global energy demands increase and concern for the environment grows, there is a growing push toward developing alternative sources of energy, such as wind, solar, and geothermal power.
