Climate Change and Global Warming
Climate Change refers to the long-term changes in the Earth’s climate, including changes in temperature, precipitation, and weather patterns caused by human activities such as burning of fossil fuels, deforestation, and agricultural practices that release greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. These greenhouse gases trap heat from the sun, which causes the Earth’s temperature to rise. This rise in temperature leads to the melting of ice caps and glaciers causing sea levels to rise, changing ocean currents, and altering weather patterns, which affect ecosystems and human health. Global warming is a part of Climate Change, which specifically refers to the increase in average global temperature over time. To mitigate the effects of climate change, we must reduce our greenhouse gas emissions and shift to renewable sources of energy.
