Anemia
Anemia is a medical condition characterized by a lower-than-normal number of red blood cells or a decrease in the level of a certain substance called hemoglobin in the blood. Red blood cells are responsible for carrying oxygen throughout our body. When there aren’t enough red blood cells or hemoglobin, our body doesn’t get enough oxygen, which can lead to symptoms such as fatigue, weakness, and shortness of breath. Anemia can have different causes, including a lack of certain nutrients like iron, vitamin B12, or folic acid, or underlying conditions like chronic diseases or genetic disorders. Treatment for anemia depends on the specific cause and may include dietary changes, supplements, or medications.
