Explain Science

Exploration of Other Worlds

There are many worlds in our solar system that scientists have explored using telescopes, spacecraft, and rovers. These worlds include planets like Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn, as well as many moons and other objects. Scientists study these worlds to learn about their geology, atmosphere, and potential for life. They use many different tools and technologies to do this, such as spectrometers to analyze light, radar to map surfaces, and drills to collect samples. Beyond our solar system, astronomers have also discovered many exoplanets, or planets outside of our solar system. Some of these exoplanets are located in the habitable zone of their star, which means they may have conditions suitable for life.
