Saturn
Saturn is categorized as a gas giant, much like Jupiter, Uranus, and Neptune. It has a diameter of approximately 116,000 kilometers and is located an average distance of 1.4 billion kilometers from the Sun. Saturn’s atmosphere is mostly composed of hydrogen with small traces of helium and other elements. Its rings are made of ice and rock particles that are believed to have originated from comets, asteroids, or even the moons of Saturn itself. The rings are divided into several distinct bands and are thought to be the remnants of a moon that was torn apart by Saturn’s gravity. Saturn has over 80 moons, with the largest being Titan and Enceladus. Titan has a thick atmosphere that is primarily composed of nitrogen and methane, while Enceladus has been found to have an icy surface that covers an ocean of salty liquid water.
