The Greenhouse Effect

The Greenhouse Effect is a process by which certain gases in the Earth’s atmosphere, such as carbon dioxide and methane, trap heat from the sun and keep it within the Earth’s atmosphere. This is important because it keeps the planet warm enough to sustain life. However, human activities like the burning of fossil fuels have led to an increase in the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, which can lead to potentially dangerous consequences, such as rising sea levels and more frequent extreme weather events.
